Founded in the DMV with an expansive reach in  Atlanta, Georgia and North Carolina, TaKe partners with communities to address some of today’s most urgent challenges: housing insecurity, limited access to career opportunities, and the need for safe, thriving neighborhoods.

Through our joint venture with Lion’s Heart Construction; a Black-owned, Veteran, and family-operated construction firm, we bring together mission and expertise. While TaKe directs all nonprofit programs and funding, Lion’s Heart provides the hands-on construction and training that help us revitalize properties, strengthen communities, and create long-term pathways to independence.

We focus on serving those who are often left behind: returning citizens, military veterans, newly legalized immigrants, underserved youth, and college students facing housing insecurity. By providing housing, education, mentorship, and employment in the skilled trades, we empower individuals to rebuild their lives while uplifting the communities they call home.

Our work is guided by a simple yet powerful belief: “TaKe the first step. Build the future.” Every project, every home, and every training opportunity is a step toward stronger neighborhoods, empowered individuals, and a more equitable tomorrow.
